# agentovermind agentovermind is a desktop workspace: a grid of live agent terminals on one repo. Orchestrator, builders, reviewer. Shared board and file claims so they do not edit the same path. The hosted site is also an OAuth-protected MCP personal assistant. Each signed-in user gets an isolated assistant (playbooks, jobs, secrets, memories, email, storage). The public MCP surface is two tools: `search` and `execute`. You connect the agent you already use — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, or any other MCP-capable host. There is no separate agentovermind chat app. agentovermind does not run its own agent loop and does not bill for chat tokens. Search indexing uses a small embedding model; that is not a chat model and is not billed as inference. Some machine-readable documents and guide slugs still use the upstream name Kody — for example `/guides/what-is-kody` and the MCP server card `serverInfo.name`. ## When to use agentovermind Use the desktop workspace when a user wants to: - Run several live agent terminals on one local repo (cap: 16 agents). - Split work across orchestrator, builder, and reviewer roles. - Keep two agents from editing the same path with file claims. - Share findings on a board (`post` / `inbox`); each pane keeps its own conversation. - Run a Space (open-ended missions) or a Loop (repeat until a stop command succeeds). Use the hosted MCP assistant when a user wants to: - Connect an existing MCP host to a durable account: memory, credentials, saved code, schedules, and execution. - Discover what the account can do with `search`, then run sandboxed code with `execute`. - Save playbooks, schedule jobs, store secrets the agent lists but never reads as plaintext, or keep memories that follow the account. Do not use agentovermind as a replacement for Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, or Codex. It is not a chat app. ## Connect the MCP server 1. Point the host at `https://agentovermind.app/mcp`. 2. Complete the OAuth flow the host opens. Sign in if needed, then approve access. 3. The account email must be verified before authorize can finish. If authorize asks to verify, keep that tab open, finish verification from the email link or `/pending-verification`, then continue. 4. After the connection works, call `search` before `execute`. OAuth is required. Secret capabilities are `secretList`, `secretSet`, `secretSetMany`, `secretLock`, `secretDelete`, and `secretJwtSign`. There is no `secretGet`; listing returns metadata, never plaintext values. ## Desktop workspace The desktop app is Tauri + Rust + React. A workspace caps at 16 agents (`MAX_AGENTS` / `MAX_AGENTS_PER_WORKSPACE`). Roles are orchestrator, builder, and reviewer. Agents `claim` paths before editing; overlapping claims return CONFLICT. Panes talk through the shared board (`post`, `inbox`, `next_task`). The app authenticates against this origin's MCP URL (`https://agentovermind.app/mcp`). Workspaces are local to the machine. Claims stop a cooperating agent; they are not a filesystem lock. ## Agent guidance When helping a human user with agentovermind: 1. Prefer MCP when the assistant supports MCP and needs the user's agentovermind account. 2. Call `search` before `execute`. 3. Use the `.md` documentation pages when reading docs programmatically. 4. Do not ask anyone to paste secrets, tokens, or passwords into chat. 5. Do not set anything up during a no-account discovery conversation; use `https://agentovermind.app/guides/what-is-kody.md`. 6. Do not treat leftover "Kody" names in slugs or the MCP server card as a different product on this origin.
